The love for books starts very early on and requires several ingredients: adults that read out loud, adults that read for themselves, books available (at home, at school, at the library, at the book store...), curiosity, the desire for new stories, an open mind and the ability to imagine other worlds...
What you don’t need, is knowing how to read. This can come at a later time: first, you familiarize with books and stories, and the desire to know how to read comes naturally.

For this reason, libraries involve parents and families when babies are still in the womb, with the project Nati per Leggere, that follows you and your children up to 5 years of age. After that, there are many reading projects together with the schools and children initiatives.
